Weekly SQE1 Tutorials with Dan Hill
In your calendar, for most weeks leading up to the exam.

How the tutorials work
One hour most Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. GMT, live on Google Meet.
1. Themed teaching (up to 30 minutes)
Focus area: a particular subtopic, FLK area, revision technique, or exam strategy. Worked examples, common traps, the rules examiners actually test. Material shared on screen.
2. Group discussion
A live group discussion incorporating some Q&A. Everyone participates, with Dan leading. If you're stuck on a specific subtopic or practice question, this is where it gets unstuck.
3. Submit questions in advance via the WhatsApp group
Post a question in the group at least 24 hours before the session so Dan can review it in his prep.
4. Watch the sessions back
Every session is recorded. Watch the replay recordings for any sessions you missed while your plan is active.
5. A curated question set every week
Dan builds up a set of questions each week based on how everyone's performing, what's topical, and his read on what will be tested in the exam. Some get worked through live in the session. Every set goes to everyone on the SQE1 Max Plan, whether or not you made it that Wednesday.
Meet your tutor
Dan Hill
Dan has spent 25+ years in legal education. He's held senior roles at both BARBRI and the University of Law (the two largest SQE providers in the UK) and has personally guided thousands of students through the SQE and, before it, the LPC.
As Law Drills' SQE Director, Dan shapes our syllabus coverage, reviews our practice questions, and runs the live tutorials. If you've spent time on SQE-related threads, you've probably already come across his name.

What gets covered
Each tutorial is customised around the attendees in the room. Dan picks a focus from across the SRA syllabus, going deep on the topics candidates are finding hardest rather than marching through every subtopic systematically.
FLK1 topics
Business Law, Dispute Resolution, Contract, Tort, Legal System, Constitutional Law, EU Law, Ethics.
FLK2 topics
Property Practice, Wills & Estates, Solicitors' Accounts, Land Law, Trusts, Criminal Law.
Cross-cutting topics
Tax (Income, CGT, IHT), revision technique, exam strategy, time management, how to spot and answer the traps.
